The Band

Jacques

As the founding member of Weird Science, Jacques brings a global rhythm to the stage. Hailing from sunny South Africa and based in the UK for the past 23 years, Jacques grew up in a military family and is an ex-serviceman himself. Music has been a constant throughout his life, surrounded by both military and civilian musicians, he naturally developed his lifelong passion and skills as a drummer, vocalist, and musician.

Earning the nickname “Sticks” after picking up his first pair of drumsticks at the tender age of 7, the rest is history. Alongside Weird Science, Jacques lends his talents to numerous other bands, music projects, and charity fundraisers, though his deep rooted, unwavering love for the 80s remains his ultimate driving force!

Shaun

Shaun is a vocalist, multi‑instrumentalist and musical teacher whose musical journey began at five years old on the piano and expanded at fifteen when he picked up the guitar and could not put it down. His stagecraft was shaped through many years on the music circuits in rock bands including Chinchilla, The Mafia, Newman and Lowriders, before co-creating Weird Science with drummer Jacques, he is known for his high energy performances with bands like Weird Science. He blends audience connection, outrageous colours and performance on every stage, proudly fuelled by a lifelong love of 80s music.

Jaysha

Jaysha is a powerhouse vocalist and seasoned stage performer whose extensive theatrical credits span everything from Footloose and Priscilla Queen of the Desert to headlining as Ozzy (Oz) in We Will Rock You (and trading rock anthems for a touch of Disney magic as Elsa in Frozen). When she isn’t commanding the mic with her dynamic range or working as a children’s entertainer, she manages her own cleaning business. Bringing undeniable theatrical flair and serious vocal chops, Jaysha delivers the ultimate punch to the front of Weird Science.

Craig

Craig’s musical journey began at age ten when he taught himself guitar, heavily inspired by Queen’s Brian May and 80s shredders like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. He spent years in the original rock scene, writing and recording with acclaimed producers like Julian Standen (The Lemonheads) and Stuart Epps (Led Zeppelin, Elton John). In 2015, Craig’s lifelong Queen obsession led to a seven year stint touring the UK and Europe as Brian May in the renowned tribute act Mercury. After a brief break to start a landscaping business, Craig traded six strings for four, bringing his veteran stage presence and backing vocals to Weird Science as their powerhouse bassist.

Vaughan

Vaughan started his musical journey on classical piano before discovering a passion for rock guitar in his teens. Influenced by the great guitar heroes of the 80s, he has performed with Shuno, a duo with his father, and the rock covers band Lowriders before joining Weird Science. Off stage, Vaughan shares his love of guitar with more than 2,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. His melodic playing, energetic performances, and passion for classic rock make him a perfect fit for the band.
